Not fully. Shopify announced on September 21 that Muse can check out with Shop Pay on all Shopify stores, but on September 23 Muse still listed the Shopify connector as coming soon. Shopify's help center says direct checkout in AI channels, including Meta, is on by default for eligible stores, so check your admin instead of assuming.

  • What was announced. Shopify CEO @tobi wrote that Shopify is "partnering deeply with Muse to enable agentic checkout with Shop Pay on all Shopify stores," a post with about 9,200 engagements. Mark Zuckerberg (@finkd) confirmed the deal and promised "more partnerships like this coming soon," and Meta's @alexandr_wang said the goal is giving Muse users "access to a wide range of stores."
  • What Muse itself says. On September 23, @Muse listed four new connectors, "all coming soon": Shopify for "one-tap checkout across the Internet," plus PayPal, Expedia and Instacart. The wording suggests the Shopify integration was still being rolled out when that post went up.
  • The payment plumbing is arriving in parallel. On September 19, Stripe and Meta opened the Muse Connector Platform so businesses can accept payments from agents (@patrickc). On September 22, Stripe added WebMCP to Stripe Checkout so agents can complete payments in a browser (@stripe).
  • Why it's getting attention. Shopify is opening its stores to Muse while Amazon has blocked Muse and ChatGPT from crawling its platform (@TrungTPhan). For independent brands, that makes Muse a possible discovery channel that Amazon-only sellers may not get.
  • What to do this week. Open your Shopify admin and look for the agentic storefronts and direct checkout settings. Check that your products appear in Shopify Catalog, that you ship to the US, and that your refund, return and privacy policies are published. Then decide whether to keep direct checkout on or send shoppers to your own site.

Is Muse checkout live for my store right now?

The public signals are mixed. Shopify's announcement says "all Shopify stores," while Muse's own post calls the Shopify connector "coming soon," and neither gives a store-by-store rollout date. Your admin settings are the most reliable check.

Which stores are eligible?

Shopify's help center lists Meta among its AI channels and says agentic storefronts are active by default for eligible stores, but that page does not spell out the criteria. When Muse first launched earlier in September, Shopify President @harleyf said merchants whose products are in Shopify Catalog and ship to the US were already discoverable.

What products can't use direct checkout?

Shopify's page on AI-channel direct checkout, written for Microsoft Copilot, excludes subscriptions, product bundles, customizable products and B2B-only products, and lets merchants turn direct checkout off. Shopify has not published a separate list for Muse, so treat those exclusions as a likely guide rather than confirmed Muse rules.
